LPG Gasstation:
LPG: It is presently offered nationwide at about 6200 filling stations in Germany, with a strong rising trend. 68% of LPG filling stations also carry gasoline and 37% are open 24 hours.
CNG Gasstation:
CNG: Is offered nationwide at currently around 900 filling stations in Germany, and rising.
LPG Composition:
LPG is a mixture of propane and butane, and is offered in various proportions. Depending on the butane content, the octane number is between 105 and 115. The composition is regulated by the European Standard DIN EN 589th. This regulates the quality of LPG / LNG, to ensure a uniform European standard.
CNG Composition:
CNG is mainly composed of methane (about 84-99 vol -%), and ranges from a 120 to140 octane rating. The composition of the fuel gas is defined by the standard DIN 51624 of the Federal Emission Control Regulation which defines which substances may be present in which concentration in CNG.
LPG Storage:
LPG is stored in a liquid state at 5-10 bar pressure (400 g per liter of fuel gross tank volume).
CNG Storage:
CNG is stored in a gaseous form at a pressure of about 200 bar (about 160 g per liter of fuel pressure gas tank volume). CNG is reduced by a high pressure regulator to about 5 bar.
